About the materials we use
At Aphrodite Jewellery, We believe the true star of every piece should be the gemstones themselves. That’s why we have carefully sourced some of the best quality gemstones and materials available, ensuring beauty, authenticity, and lasting appeal in every design.
Whilst we do work with gold and sterling silver, we also use gold and silver plated metals due to the rising cost of precious metals—allowing us to offer stunning jewellery at accessible prices without compromising on style.
Our plated pieces are crafted using zinc alloy and stainless steel, chosen for their durability and hypoallergenic properties. As someone with sensitivities to lower-quality metals, I understand how important comfort and wearability are.
We are also strongly committed to authenticity when it comes to jade. We only sell:
- Type A Jadeite Jade (natural and untreated)
- Type A Mutton Fat White or Black Nephrite Jade (natural and untreated)
We do not sell Type B or C Jadeite Jade, nor other varieties of lower value nephrite jade, as these are typically treated, softer, and of lower overall quality.
